An online presentation (in english) in which Massimiliano Sfregola will talk about an important social problem that is impacting the Dutch daily life, Tuesday 17 May at 17:00
Organized crime has marked the history of Italy in recent decades: leaving behind a trail of blood, infiltrating institutions and affecting the country’s economy.
While it is true that a strong civil movement for legality has achieved some results, it is also true that global mafias are now visible even in countries where states have always thought they had the criminal phenomena under control.
Shootings in broad daylight, lawyers and journalists gunned down in the street, and one of Europe’s major criminal ecosystems have sadly become part of daily life in the Netherlands as well.
Massimiliano will explain to us how, despite the appearances, the Italian Mafia of the early 1990s massacres and the Dutch “Mocro Maffia” are rather different from each other.
